LIP Funding
Question No: 2024/4300
Question: Thomas Turrell AM (Bexley and Bromley) - 19th December 2024
Broken down by financial year and by borough, please update the Assembly on how much LIP funding each London borough has received every year since May 2016?
Answer: Sir Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London) - 10th February 2025
The attached table sets out the amount of LIPs funding provided by Transport for London (TfL) to the boroughs each year since 2016/17. As you can tell from this, the total budget available for LIPs has reduced significantly since the pre-pandemic years, which is due to the significant impact upon TfL’s funding and the lack of long term funding deal.
For years up to 2023/24 this shows the amount paid to the borough based on the work completed, which may be less than they were initially allocated if they were unable to complete some of their planned schemes. For 2024/25 the table shows the funding that has been allocated to the boroughs so far this financial year and does not represent the final funding amount as allocations are increased during the year as TfL approves different phases of design and delivery.
