Question No: 2024/3355 (RE: Deputy Mayor for Environment Declarations)

Question (Thomas Turrell AM): 10th October 2024

The Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy’s expenses, gifts and hospitality register has not been uploaded, despite him being in office since July. When can Londoners expect this to be shared publicly as per GLA policy?

Answer (Sadiq Khan):  15th October 2024

The new Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy has not received any expenses, gifts of hospitality and so there has been nothing to update on the register.

Should anything be needed to add to the register, it will be updated.

Question No: 2024/3363 (RE: Delegating Responsibilities)

Question (Thomas Turrell AM): 10th October 2024

Please can you confirm how you delegate responsibilities between you and your Deputy Mayor for Environment?

Answer (Sadiq Khan):  15th October 2024

Before becoming Deputy Mayor, Mete was a Councillor and Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Environment, and Transport in the London Borough of Hackney, delivering a £61 million Green New Deal to tackle the climate crisis. He is best known for pioneering Hackney’s Community Energy Fund, providing clean, green, community-owned energy to 39 not-for-profits.

His responsibilities will be the same as his predecessor, Shirley Rodrigues, ensuring delivery of my manifesto commitments for environment and energy and supporting my mission to make London net zero by 2030.
