Thomas Turrell - Councillor's Report – October 2022

October was dominated by the news from late September that Southeastern plan to remove the Cannon Street services on the Hayes Line from December. Along with my fellow Councillors, and Bob Stewart MP, I have been running a petition calling for the plans to be abandoned.

Traffic Tour with Nicholas Bennett

On the 22nd October Councillor Alexa Michael and I met with the Council’s Executive Member for Transport, Highways and Road Safety, Nicholas Bennett, to take our colleague for a tour of the ward and show him the areas of concerns on local roads.

Hayes to Cannon Street: Save Our Trains Petition Launched

In September, Southeastern announced their new timetable which will take effect from the 11thDecember. Unfortunately, this includes removing the services from Hayes to Cannon Street from the line. All services will instead go to Charing Cross.

Councillor Report – August 2022

August is usually a quiet month, many people are on holiday and there are no scheduled committee meetings for the month. As such I have not done a video for the month as this report is brief.

Objection to 25m Commonside Phone Tower

In July I submitted a formal objection to the telecoms tower proposed for Commonside Car Park; citing concerns about the height, proximity to houses, loss of parking and damage to green spaces in a conversation area as the core reasons.
